Park 09

An exhibition in Cannizaro Park of temporary art works by students from Wimbledon College of Art, selected and curated by Sarah B Davies.
For this exhibition I created a piece entitled 'You are here...or here...or here, GPS map of rug on 22-04-09, 16:10 – 16:30 '. I am interested in exploring our use of GPS systems to locate ourselves and how this relationship is affected by inaccuracies, due to the differing satellite orbits, interference in the atmosphere and the functionality of the handset. By recording the static position of a picnic rug in the park over a period of 20 minutes, I created a visual 3D map of the variances logged.
